You Buy the Books. But Do You Apply Them?
Sound familiar?
You finish a great business book feeling fired up — full of ideas, frameworks, and possibilities. Then Monday hits. The inbox floods. The team needs you. And by week three, the book is on the shelf collecting dust alongside the last four you meant to implement.
It's not a motivation problem. It's a structure and accountability problem. Reading alone rarely changes behavior. Application with peers does.
Who's your sounding board?
Nobody to check in with means commitments stay theoretical.
Find your leadership squad.
Trusted colleagues encourage you to try the big things.
Making 'aha!' moments stick.
Without guided discussion, insights fade within days.
How It Works
One Book. Six Weeks. Three Sessions That Change How You Lead.
The Woodlands Business Book Club is engineered for busy leaders who want to grow without adding complexity. Here's the elegant simplicity behind it:
Every cohort reads one high-impact business book together over six weeks — no skimming, no rushing. Three 90-minute sessions, spaced two weeks apart, give you time to read, reflect, and actually try things between meetings.
Session Format
What Happens in Every Session
Each 90-minute session follows a focused, proven structure — the same whether you join in-person in The Woodlands or live on Zoom from anywhere in the US.
1
Real-Life Examples
Members share where the book's concepts are showing up in their actual work. Theory meets reality immediately.
2
Action Steps
Members name specific things they will apply or try as they grow themselves and their business. Public commitment dramatically increases follow-through.
3
Group Takeaways
We close by allowing everyone to share ideas that resonated — creating shared language and momentum that extends beyond the session.
🏢 In-Person (The Woodlands, TX)
Meet face-to-face in a welcoming, professionally curated local space. There's something irreplaceable about reading across a table from someone who just tried the same idea in their business. Coffee, conversation, and community — real and present.
💻 Virtual (Anywhere)
Join live via Zoom with full video and audio participation. Virtual members receive equal airtime, equal discussion weight, and equal accountability. This isn't a livestream — it's a seat at the table. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a quiet space.
Core Values
The Culture We Build Together
These aren't aspirational posters on a wall. These are the five commitments every member makes — the shared agreements that make honest, growth-focused conversation possible.
Always Growing, Never Arrogant
We show up curious, not as experts. Every book is an invitation to rethink what we think we know.
Mindful Sharing, Deep Listening
We give as much as we take. Listening is active and generous — not waiting for your turn to speak.
Honest Feedback, Delivered Kindly
Truth without care is just criticism. We offer both together — candor wrapped in respect.
Open Minds, Fresh Views
We welcome perspectives that challenge our own. Different industries, backgrounds, and experiences make every discussion richer.
Trusted Peers, Shared Momentum
What's shared in the room stays in the room. Confidentiality is what allows vulnerability — and vulnerability is what allows growth.
Next Cohort
Your Seat Is Waiting — Spots Are Limited
We intentionally keep cohorts small to protect the quality of discussion. When the room is the right size, everyone gets airtime and every voice carries weight. Don't wait until it's full.

Ground Rules
Simple Rules That Protect Everyone's Time and Trust
Great conversations don't happen by accident. These four commitments keep our sessions focused, safe, and worth every minute of your time.
Respect the Time
Sessions run exactly 90 minutes — we start sharp and end sharp. Respecting the clock is how we respect each other. Come prepared and present.
🔒 Confidentiality
What's shared in the group stays in the group. Members speak freely because they trust the room. Guard that trust fiercely — it's what makes honesty possible.
🚫 No Sales, No Self-Promotion
We are here to grow from the book and from each other — full stop. Pitching, promoting, or positioning is not welcome. Keep the focus where it belongs: on ideas and application.
📵 Be Fully Present
Minimize distractions for the 90 minutes we're together. Phones away, inbox closed, attention given. The quality of your experience is directly proportional to your presence.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Especially about how our hybrid format works — because virtual is genuinely equal, and we want you to feel that before you apply.
Is virtual really the same experience as in-person?
Yes — and we mean that. Virtual members participate in the same discussion, have the same structured airtime, make the same action commitments, and are held to the same accountability. The facilitation is designed for true hybrid inclusion, not passive observation.
What technology do I need to join virtually?
A computer or tablet with a reliable internet connection, a working camera, and a microphone. Zoom is free to download. A quiet, distraction-free space for 90 minutes is the only other requirement.
Can I switch from virtual to in-person?
Format preferences are locked at the cohort level due to capacity constraints — in-person space is limited. If you'd like to switch for a future cohort, choose the in-person option on the next cohort. We accommodate this whenever possible but spots are limited.
How much reading is involved?
You'll read roughly one-third of the selected book every two weeks — approximately 60–100 pages depending on the title. It's a meaningful but manageable commitment. Most members find 20–30 minutes of focused reading a few evenings per week is sufficient.
Do I need to be based in Texas?
Not at all. Virtual members join from anywhere in the world — as long as the session time works for your timezone. We've had members join from across the U.S. and internationally. The cohort experience is designed to be fully location-agnostic for virtual participants.
What kinds of leaders typically join?
Founders and ambitious entrepreneurs across industries — typically established with 3–15+ years of business & leadership experience. What unites members isn't title or industry; it's a genuine desire to grow and the humility to learn alongside peers.
